Holly Martinelli

As I look back though my childhood photo albums, I am brought back to the early days of my childhood... where the good girl gospel was deeply instilled in me.

 

I look at these images and I can literally FEEL the energy of little Holly... the fear, the uncertainty, the shame, the smallness...

All of those emotions and sensations that followed me well into adulthood and shaped the woman I would become.

 

Over the last 10 years, I have shed that skin.

I have cried many tears.

 

I have battled through the anxiety and depression that took over me for a time.

 

It wasn’t until about 3 years ago that I realized just how much emotional baggage I had been carrying because of an extremely restrictive religious upbringing.

I worked hard with therapists and people who love me dearly (the REAL me, not the version I was taught to be).

 

I’m not anti-church.

 

I love God with my whole heart.

 

But when I was sitting in my therapist’s office, with overwhelming waves of emotion sweeping through my whole body…

 

I realized the pain went deep.

 

I’ve done a lot of healing work, and I’ve grown so much closer to God over the last few years than ever in my life.

And I can wholeheartedly say, I am free! And I believe God has placed me on this earth to help other women find that freedom.
